SLOW SALES GROWTH FOR SONY ERICSSON

Sony Ericsson has warned it expects profits to be lower than previously expected for the first quarter of 2008 due to slow sales growth.

Having previously received analyst pre-tax profit estimates of 305 to 409 million euros, the company now expects 150 to 200 million euros to be a more realistic prediction.

“Moderating sales growth of mobile phone units is expected to negatively impact net sales and net income before tax for the first quarter of 2008,” said a statement from Sony Ericsson.
