LONDON 2012 – OPPORTUNITIES FOR LONDON BUSINESSES
SOLOMAN, in partnership with Croydon Business and the Local Enterprise Growth Initiative, organised an event for manufacturing companies at Tiger Tiger in Central Croydon on 7th March.
According to the Olympic authorities, there is no shortage of supply chain opportunities for SME's. Although the ODA and LOCOG will collectively issue approximately 2500 direct contracts in the lead up to 2011, they estimate that over 75,000 supply chain opportunities will be generated.
Through presentations by the London Business Network and Supply London SOLOMAN intends to put local suppliers in contact with these opportunities.
Kevin Ma from London Business Network introduced the new 'CompeteFor' online service. CompeteFor provides unique access to games related business opportunities, acting as a brokerage service between buyers and potential suppliers throughout the London 2012 supply chain.
Mary Edwards, Supply Chain Adviser, Supply London Programme, PERA, outlined the characteristics needed to become a 'Fit to Supply' company, and how the Supply London Programme can help.
The event was well attended and the presentations very well received.
SOLOMAN provides knowledgeable help and support through experienced professionals from manufacturing backgrounds, and a sensible engagement route to public service consultation and support.
