Soloman along with Fleet Tutors were engaged by PERA to deliver the English language training for Ambala Foods Limited, and were responsibility the provision of 1 to 1 and group Technical English coaching sessions, in conjunction with the ESOL accredited training programme.
As part of the programme several elements were included, English conversation, CV preparation and cultural awareness. Following the successful completion of the programme Ambala employees made the following comments
Family relationships, perhaps the most poignant comments that we have received from our Ambala students is that we have given them the confidence to speak English at home.
Rashid Mahmood Sakhi …..”it has made me go home and speak English to my wife and nephews, as they can speak English.”
Mohammed Shiraj Miah …..”now I try and talk to my children as they talk English at school.”
Munwar Ahmed …..”I try and talk English to my son to get better.”
Mohamed Miah …..”I now talk some English when I am at home.”
CV skills, to expand the students knowledge and use of the English language, time was spent developing their technical English and preparing them for different jobs outside of Ambala Foods.
Irfan Khan ….. “you have helped me with my CV and different types of jobs to look for.”
Lokon Miah ….. “You helped me learn many things about finding a new job, CV’s and how the Job Centre work.”
Sheikh Khadil ….. “You have been very helpful in completing my CV.”
Improving cultural relationships, the tutor used for the informal English language training, was a 55 year old white male, who could not communicate in the various languages of our Ambala students. This had a very positive impact on the students, as they had to speak English to be able to communicate.
Islam Khawar …..”It has been good having an English person to talk to.”
Bablu Miah ….. “Until now I have not spoken to many people in English.”
Shahid Nadeem ….. “It has been good talking about many things…..”
Kismat Zazai ….. “I have liked talking to you, as I don’t know any English people.”
Choudhury Hussain ….. “I have enjoyed talking to you…..as we have spoken about many things that I am interested in.”
Mohammed Zahid …..”You have been very helpful to me, not just talking English, when I had a question you tried hard to answer it.”
One final comment made by Mr Uddin the Ambala Foods Production Manager, who was initially concerned that informal conversation during the normal production time, may have impacted on daily output said, “It has been excellent, because of your presence everyone has started to talk English and practice. So it has been worthwhile.”
