| SOUTH LONDON EXPORT CLUB & INTERNATIONAL TRADE EVENT TO BULGARIA
30th September to 3rd October 2008
The British Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce (BBCC) and South London Export Club (SLEC) are organising a joint business mission to Bulgaria from 30th September - 3rd October 2008. This has been timed to coincide with the International Technical Fair in Plovdiv and the mission programme will include a full day visit to Plovdiv on Wednesday 1st October, for which transport will be provided.
Plovdiv, Bulgaria's second largest city, is home to the most extensive exhibition complex in the country. The Autumn Technical Fair acts a major hub for business in all sectors, attracting over 3,500 exhibitors, and is the most important industrial showcase in the annual calendar. It incorporates a number of specialised exhibitions which run concurrently - Aquatech (water management and technology), Autotech (transport and automotive equipment), Chemical Industry, Eltech (electronics and electrical engineering), Eneco (power engineering and ecology), Infotech (ICT - PC World Bulgaria software exhibition), Machine Building , the Plovdiv Motor Show and Stroytech - The City (construction and architecture).
There will be a networking lunch at the Exhibition Pavilion for Bulgarian businesses who are looking to trade with the UK either as exporters or importers and you will be able to invite your own guests. It is open to all mission members to take advantage of the opportunity to promote their products and services at this unique venue. The cost will be divided between the number of participating companies and is not expected to exceed £20 plus a small charge for light refreshments.
Thursday and Friday will be spent in Sofia and you will have the opportunity to attend a briefing session given by the British Embassy. An evening reception may be held at the Ambassador’s Residence for an additional cost to be shared between participants and this will be an excellent opportunity to meet any Sofia-based contacts. The remainder of the programme will be left open in order to offer maximum flexibility for participants to fix individual appointments.
Unless you already have confirmed contacts in Bulgaria it is highly recommended that you consider commissioning market research from the British Embassy, who will compile a tailor-made report for you with a validated list of contacts and can make appointments for you in advance of your visit. This is a chargeable service called OMIS (Overseas Market Introduction Service) and further information is available from Tanya Koicheva, who is head of the Embassy's Commercial Section - tanya.koicheva@fco.gov.uk. For those new to the market this is a value-for-money service.
